Reims · Champagne · International
Durocortorum is building a multilingual gateway to Reims, designed to help international visitors discover the city's history, heritage, culture, Champagne traditions and practical travel information in one place.
Explore the language project
Visitors often have to move between different websites, institutional pages, travel platforms and translated fragments of information. Useful content may exist in French, but not necessarily in the language a traveller understands best.
Our project is to bring together a growing collection of original editorial content about Reims and progressively make it available in several languages. The aim is not to duplicate the same page mechanically, but to create useful, readable content adapted to international visitors.
Durocortorum will cover the city's history, heritage, neighbourhoods, Champagne, cultural life, gastronomy, events, visitor ideas and practical information. Over time, these resources will form a multilingual reference point for people preparing a visit or simply wishing to understand Reims better.
The international area is designed as a central access point for future language versions. Only the French and English websites are currently active. The other entries below are intentionally inactive.
Travellers do not all search for Reims in the same way. Language, travel habits, cultural references and expectations differ from one audience to another.
The project will bring together practical explanations, discovery ideas and contextual information that are easy to understand before and during a stay.
Each language area can be adapted to its audience instead of relying only on automatic or literal translation of the French pages.
Durocortorum aims to connect heritage, culture, Champagne, local life and history so that international visitors can discover more than the most obvious landmarks.
